Let the following be a lesson to you. Never EVER let another player look at your character sheet.
Picture if you will, a maglev train coming to a stop at the last function spaceport on a besieged planet. On board at 40 or so refugee’s, ten non-player characters of varying importance, and seven player characters, all from different walks of life.
Everyone disembarks the train, but before we can all marshal together and board the shuttle out, twelve daemons and their Overseer teleport onto the launchpad, the only saving grace being that they are some 70metres away.
Oh I forgot, 70metres is a snarf for an energy blast. My bad. Immediantly the group springs into action. By action I mean no team work. Melee’rs charge. Our ranged combatants immediantly began exchanging pleasantries with the aforementioned team of evil, while I.. basically being the healer of the group took up a “readiness” position. For those of you who don’t know what that is, you place your head between your legs and kiss your ass goodbye…
Anyway.. perhaps a short description of the group and campaign is in order.
The short story is that, players from across all known gaming universes have been, due to a side effect of time manipulation been thrown together and left to fend. The group has a semi-guide in the mysterious Avignon, who has informed the group he fixes things, but he cannot fix us as it would cause more problems which would cascade out beyond his ability to fix (Lazy bugga).
He instead offers an alternative, placing the group on a stable planet in order to live out their lives. However, the group is captured by a bunch of time manipulating techno religious monks..
wait… what?
Several hundred years of study later, the planet comes under attack by techno using void daemons…
wait… what?
In their starships… During the attack the players are freed, and attempt to save what they can of the populace by getting them to the last availiable star port. Cool. With me so far.. And now the contestants..
Dachemyer is our resident GM. We are playing his custom universe, known as Thear. Currently we are using the champions system while he reworks his game engine. A very nasty GM, we can expect major plot twists as well as some incredibly hardcore enemies.
Showdown is our resident close combat powerhouse. With the highest attack, dodge and damage ratings of the party, he is a force to be reckoned with. However power comes with a price, and his is far too high. His original setting is Thear.
Maleficarum is a huckster from the Deadlands: The Weired West. With poker playing gambling for your soul daemonic goodness, he is to ranged what Showdown is too melee. Posseses an awesome array of spells, from Aid, Succor to Achilles heal and SOUL BLAST! SOUL BLAST being so awesome it must be said in caps each time.
Azierl walks straight out of Diablo 2 as a paladin. His aura’s swing the tide of battle (Not too mention our resident GM’s eyebrows) not to mention his staying power in hand to hand. Doesn’t have much education outside of the monster manual, so his effectiveness out of combat is yet too be proven.
Sarinna the daemon. Another straight from the Diablo 2 universe. Posseses an absolutely BULLSHIT item which turns her into an 8 meter tall daemon which is unable to tell friend from foe. Able to communicate with daemons, she is our resident scary person.
Blizzaron the man of Ice. This guy walks straight out of the liberty city champions hall of fame. Able to regenerate from death, he walks, talks shoots and flies? He nicely balances out all the daemonic badness in our group with some all out American Heroism.
Sway the kai fighter. The strong man of the party, able to turn his skin to rock and punch very large holes in extremely tough things. He is also the resident cult starting martial arts using power hungry megalomainiac. I bet you cant say that five times running. Originates from the Kai Monastary on Thear
Navar’roe is a Valerian (race of winged people) Diamond Knight from Thear. He is the generalist of the party, able to heal, take a beating, spell sling, mix it in melee and take it to the skies if need be. He can’t do any of this really well, but offsets this by a couple of nifty get out of jail abilities.
Im now tired, so I’ll leave the rest of the story for later ![]()
